Supposedly, the world’s most expensive coffee today that is the product of an animal’s digestive tract, Kopi Luak or Luwak from Sumatra, Java and Sulawesi in Indonesia. It is reported that the yearly crop is only about 80 lbs total and it retails in the US for about $500/lb.

But, according to the former head of the Indonesian national zoo, as told to the Smithsonian’s rep. Kopi Luak is a fiction with a great sales pitch. Has anyone every tried it. Here’s a YouTube video link. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Q7IYpLYQ7Q

I have not tried this coffee and really do not intend to, Just reading the info on it was enough for me. Just type Kopi Luwak into your search engine and read all about it on wikipedia. At $50 a cup,,, thats 3 pounds of Journey coffee that really is good.

    I agree with Lorrie!

When I watched the video a few weeks ago I was actually turned off by the "process" involved with the creation of that coffee! LOL It's not something that I have any interest in trying however it was a fascinating story :)

We do have an amazing and delicious coffee that doesn't come from the bowels of a wild animal. LOL

    Have a great day everyone!
